Musical Instruments 

1. Definition :- The instrument that is created or adapted to make the pleasureous musical sounds is generally known as musical instrument .
2. Any object that can produce sound can be a musical instrument but it is through purpose that the object becomes a musical instrument or not .
3. History of musical instruments : Early musical instruments were used for the rituals , such as - A trumpet to signal success on the hunt , or a drum in a religious ceremony etc. 
4. Types of musical instruments : The musical instruments are divided into following three categories -

• String Instruments - The plucked string instruments and bowed string instruments are under this category .
• Wind Instruments - This instruments are flute , harp , clarinates , harmonium etc. 
• Percussion Instruments - Drum , Tabla , Tambourine etc. are present in this category .

Some of the musical instruments are - Violin , Dilruba , Sitar , Guitar , Harmonium , Tabla etc.
