Reactive Intermediate :- Upper Introduction

Reactive Intermediates :- In the mechanism of organic reactions , the reactants doesn't changes into product directly in single step . The change in reactants normally takes place via an intermediate compound which has a short life span and known as Reactive Intermediate .
In other words , it can be defined as A short-lived compound formed during any chemical reaction via which , the reactants turns into products , is known as Reactive Intermediate .
These intermediates may be generally covalent compound , ion or radical and have short life time . Sometimes they are unstable and can not be isolated .
Various reactive intermediates that we come across in the study of organic reactions are as follows :-

1. Carbonium Ion (Carbocation)
2. Carbanion
3. Free Radical
4. Carbene
5. Nitrene
6. Arynes (Benzyne)

We will discuss all of these individually in some next couple of articles . You can search them all at search box .
