Homonuclear and Hetronuclear Diatomic Molecules

Diatomic Molecules:- The molecules consisting of two atoms are known as Diatomic Molecules .

Homonuclear Diatomic Molecules:- The molecules consisting of two atoms of same elements are known as Homonuclear Diatomic Molecules. Ex: H2 , O2 , Cl2 , N2 etc.

Hetronuclear Diatomic Molecules:- The molecules consisting of two atoms of different elements are known as Hetronuclear Diatomic Molecules . Ex: CO , HF , HCl etc.

All the diatomic molecules have linear geometry and have quantised energy levels for rotation and vibration.
